In ancient history it was called "yaffa" which means "delightful".

In the Roman time yaffa was a fortified town and the Romans

gave it the name of "IPfa" of the villages of Zippori District.

yaffa lies on the slopes of mountains and is surrounded by the

city of Nazareth from east and a number of other coummunities.

In a short space of time its population has multiplied due to the

constant influx of inhabitants from the neighbouring villages and

towns. This new situation requires a great deal of effort on the

part of the local council, to meet the needs of the inhabitants.

We would like, in this respect, to shed a new light on some

aspects of life in yaffa Nazareth:

the population of yaffa Nazareth these days comes to about

13,000. Young people (up to the age of 35) from about 65%

        of total population.
